Richard Steele was born on 12 March 1672 in Dublin, Ireland. He was an Irish writer, playwright and politician in the 18th century. He died on 1st September 1729 in Carmarthen, Wales. The Tatler was a periodical launched in London by the essayist Sir Richard Steele in April 1709. "The Tatler" was published with 271 issues in all.
