John Bunyan was born in 1628 in Bedfordshire, the son of Brazier. He was educated at the village school and at the age of 16 was drafted into the parliamentary army and saw service in the civil war. He was an English writer and Puritan preacher best remembered as the author of the Christian allegory "The Pilgrims Progress". Bunyan's first book since "Gospel Truths" was published in 1656. Charles l reigned from 1625 to 1649. The name of Caroline came from the word Carolus, the Latin for Charles. It is passing down of this name which is what we now refer to the new era as the Carolean age.
