Paradise Lost by John Milton
Paradise Lost is an epic poem in blank verse. One of the late works by John Milton was originally issued in 10 books in 1667 and with books 7 and 10 each split into two parts, published in 12 books in the second edition of 1674. It tells the Biblical tale of the Fall of Mankind. The moment when Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge and God banished them from the Garden of Eden forever.
